How does drop off/pick up work?
Since our classes are held at an event center rather than a traditional dance studio, our drop-off and pick-up process will be a little different. Please wait until your dancer's scheduled class time before coming into the building. Enter through the double doors closest to the main parking lot, which lead directly into the room where classes are held. You're welcome to drop your dancer off or wait downstairs in our waiting room during class. When it's time for pick-up, please wait until class has ended before coming in from the parking lot or coming upstairs from the waiting room. This helps us keep distractions to a minimum, especially for our younger dancers. For the safety of our students, parents or guardians of dancers in Preschool through 6th grade must come inside to pick up their child at the end of class. We will not dismiss students to the parking lot without a parent or guardian. Thank you for helping us keep our classes running smoothly and safely for everyone!
When are the 2026/2027 studio holidays?
We will follow Venus ISD for all holiday/weather closures. The only exceptions are various Monday holidays like Presidents Day or teacher work days. We will be closed the week of Thanksgiving (November 23-27), Christmas Break (December 21-January 1) and Spring Break (March 15-19). Follow us on social media to keep up with weather closures!
Where will the Recital be held?
Our recital will be held at The Landmark Event Center! We're so excited to have the opportunity to dance and perform in such a beautiful venue. There will be plenty of seating for family and friends, and we'll also have access to the bridal and groom's suites, which we will be using as our dressing rooms.
How old does my dancer need to be to start classes?
Our youngest class at the moment is our preschool combo. Dancers must be 3 years old and potty trained by September 1st to enroll in this class.
How do I enroll?
We are finalizing our enrollment process and will have online registration available through Jackrabbit as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can begin the enrollment process by emailing savannah@starlightdance.co and we'll be happy to help you get started.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept debit and credit cards, as well as bank account (ACH) payments, through our online Parent Portal, Jackrabbit.
Are parents allowed to watch classes?
Since our studio is currently using the event center, we don't have a lobby or viewing window where parents can watch classes. We know this can be especially hard for parents of our youngest dancers! We still want you to have the chance to see what your dancer has been learning, so on the last class day of each month, we'll invite parents of our Preschool through 6th grade classes to come in and watch the last 15 minutes of class. This gives dancers a chance to show off what they've been working on. We will not have a parent watch for our teen classes.
How long are you planning on having classes at The Landmark Event Center?
We are so blessed to have such a beautiful space to hold our classes. Our plan is to move into our own space in downtown Venus in the next 1 to 2 years.
When does the dance year begin and end?
Our dance year will begin September 14th and our season will end the week after our Recital in May (exact date TBD). We will have end of year parties in class the week after Recital.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds on our Enrollment Fee, Costume Fees or Recital Fee. If you wish to unenroll your dancer from a class, you must do so by the 25th of the month in order to not be charged for the next month.
